A new client to Callimedia producing luxury items had often chosen to go with a shorter than A4 catalogue. We were tasked with providing a solution that would still deliver on the high quality look and feel of the brand but allow cost efficiencies to be explored.
Alongside our advice on economical production methods, the client also wanted to explore paper and finishing options which would not only enhance the luxury look and feel of the catalogue but achieve set criteria to meet postage requirements.
Using our extensive knowledge of our UK and European trusted print partners, we supplied costs based on using the optimum press configuration for the catalogue, minimising paper waste, resulting in the costs being highly competitive without jeopardising quality.
We arranged for a variety of plain paper dummies and samples of various cover finishes, including laminates, varnish, foiling and embossing solutions, to be delivered to the client. We then met with them to go through the options, carefully explaining the benefits and pitfalls of each option. This enabled our client to make an informed and considered decision on the direction of their most vital piece of offline marketing collateral.
With decisions made and orders raised, Callimedia were there every step of the way. Working with the client on PDF creation and the proof approval process, attending the press pass at one of our European partners for all text sections and covers ensuring that the strict delivery date was adhered to and the high quality expected was being achieved. Anticipation to see the finished bound catalogue was palpable, and we arranged for advance copies to be delivered to the Directors of the business prior to the bulk delivery being made.
“Callimedia completely understood what we were looking for and came up with a number of ideas to help us get the finish we wanted. Because of the importance of our catalogue, the fact that the Callimedia team went to press pass and kept us up to date throughout the whole process certainly put our minds at rest. The finished catalogue went down a storm and I’m sure will produce plenty of orders in the coming months. We look forward to continuing the relationship and exploring the new ideas Callimedia have to help with our Engagement, Acquisition and Retention of customers.”
